Endemol Shine Group is Europe’s largest independent production company. The merger between Endemol, Shine Group, and CORE Media resulted in a company with an extensive portfolio of content, including popular television shows like MasterChef, Big Brother, Black Mirror, and Peaky Blinders, as well as digital products such as Coke TV and Legends of Gaming.
Through the collaboration with Pentagram, a comprehensive brand identity was designed for the newly named Endemol Shine Group. The primary objective was to create a clear and simple visual system that allows the vast and diverse portfolio of content to take centre stage while connecting the various divisions within the Group. The minimalist approach, consistent typographic direction, and tailored visual identities for different platforms contribute to a cohesive and visually impactful brand presence for the company.
The modern and functional visual system for the identity was inspired by the Bauhaus movement, which attempted to unify individual artistic vision with the principles of mass production and emphasis on function. The bespoke typeface created specifically for this brand identity is a modified version of AG Old Face that adds a subtle yet distinguished personality to the brand. The same visual language has been consistently applied to all of Endemol Shine Group’s territory brands and divisions. This ensured a considered and consistent application of the brand identity. The restrained approach imbues the visual system with elegance, confidence, and gravitas, regardless of the subject matter.
Then began the extensive programme of executing the identity across 31 territories encouraging teams to implement the new system into their applications. During this period the identity was continually developed and adapted to accommodate the growing business.
